The founder, David Stagg-Blackman, served a formal apprenticeship in the Electrical Contracting industry before joining the fast growing office equipment business as a field service engineer during further studies.
For 20 years, prior to starting David Stagg & Associates, he was employed as Service Manager with a multi- national office equipment / graphics company.
Responsibilities included compliance of the newly introduced Electricity at Work Regulations.
David Stagg & Associates was created in 1992 to offer those services into the business environment.
A return to college achieved qualifying manager status for NICEIC enrolment during 1994, and the company became enrolled in April 1995.
Core business rapidly became inspection and testing of wiring systems.
Frustration at being unable to isolate circuits for testing due to poor identification
led to research and development of non intrusive circuit tracing equipment.
The success gained with the live circuit tracing equipment promted development
of several other unique products enabling a wide range of unique services
to be provided to clients normally out of reach to such a new, small company.
Further growth and successes resulted in the Company becoming incorporated
in July 1998. Our instructions now include consultancy, expert witness, design,
and project management in addition to our continued core business.
Bill Ellis joined David Stagg & Associates Ltd after a long career with
a major supplier of electricity. After completion of a formal apprenticeship,
his career included inspection of wiring systems, certification of instrumentation,
and revenue recovery investigation where he gained invaluable experience of
legal procedures and providing evidence at court.
